Tanaya Walters M.S., Ed. D.

Tanaya Walters, Ed. D., a higher education specialist, is an expert in turnaround, change management, organizational development and strategic planning. She has spent over two decades of her career working in Higher Education. Tanaya’s areas of expertise include, Enrollment Management, New Student Orientation, Health Services, Counseling Services, Student Engagement, Residential Life, First-year Experience and Student Disciplinary.  Tanaya has passed on her extensive knowledge to others through her experience as an educator and student affairs practitioner.

Tanaya spent most of her career working for Johnson & Wales University, her alma mater as well as working for Clark Atlanta University and the University of Massachusetts. She has used her turnaround and organizational development skills to transform the student experience; increase student engagement; student retention; and help students persist to graduation. Tanaya Walters’ contributions to enhancing the student experience has made her an inspiration to students, peers and the community.

Tanaya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Master of Science degree in Managerial Technology. In 2018 she earned her Doctor of Education with a concentration in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University. She has been featured in “Who’s Who” lists in Charlotte, NC and has been profiled in Charlotte Pride Magazine and the Charlotte Post Newspaper.

Tanaya goes above and beyond in any endeavor she undertakes. Her commitment to her career has led to incredible transformations for every institution to which she has contributed. Apart from her career, Tanaya Walters enjoys volunteering for local causes that benefit her community.
